Design Concept

Developmental models and sketches of sculptural feature wall

Exploring Hayley McSporran’s brand identity was key in establishing a direction for this project. I looked into the design process undertaken in her studio as a form of inspiration.

To create the sculptural designs she is known for she undergoes the process of draping neoprene and other fabrics resulting in the structured but fluid and organic garments which can be seen below.

I took a similar approach to exploring form by creating a number of sketch models my manipulating materials such as neoprene and cork. This eventually led to the design of the central sculptural wall which would be made from Corian with recessed lighting.

Influence from Hayley McSporran’s designs and brand identity can be seen in the organic, fluid forms throughout the space in the interior architecture and furniture.
